Shown here are our genuine Freshwater Pearl Bridal Combs mixed with hand-crafted Porcelain Resin Flowers and dainty inlaid crystals and beads to create a wonderfully romantic look . Mariell’s Wedding Combs and Hair Clips are available in silver of gold. Also featuring Porcelain Resin Flowers are Mariell’s dramatic 5” floral hair clips (HC1092) which gracefully taper off from etched flowers and leaves into a single Swarovski teardrop at the end. These hair clips are shown in ivory with Silver or Champagne with Gold.
One of our best-selling bridal hair combs (H241) is a 6” spray of flowers enameled in soft Rum and mixed with Freshwater Pearls and Austrian Crystal daisies. With the wedding of Britain’s Queen Victoria in the mid 19th century - the Romantic Period of Victorian jewelry and hair accessories was born and continues today in many of Mariell’s bridal designs. We capture the romance of this era in our Victorian hair accessories which use delicate enamels, lacy silhouettes and feminine floral designs of the day.

One well-loved bridal hair comb in our collection (H001) has a coordinating necklace set (S005) and a tiara (T005). This coordinated ensemble or “suite” of matched bridal accessories is reminiscent of an interesting historical fashion called the “Parure” which began in 17th century Europe. A parure is a wardrobe of matched accessories which might include a necklace, a hair comb, a tiara, drop earrings, stud earrings, a brooch, a hair clip or other hair ornaments, a pair of bracelets and a ring. These wardrobes were worn exclusively by women of wealth or royalty. Most famous of parures were those gifted by Napolean Bonaparte to his wife Josephine. He was particularly fond of lavishing her with these symbols of love and social status.
